Recently, I had the chance to organize a friend's playroom. They had plenty of space for their belongings...the children just didn't know where to put them. They couldn't find a certain toy they were looking for because it was shoved in various drawers, shelves, the closet and under the couches.
Here are some pictures of what it looked like when I first came in.
So, I got started...I pulled everything off the shelves, out of the drawers and table tops so I could get to work. YES, I said EVERYTHING. I started grouping the toys and putting them away on the shelves, and in their drawers, plastic containers and bins. It didn't stop there. I got out my labels and my sharpie and started labeling. Now, the children know where to put their belongings when they are finished playing with them.
And TADA! This is what the finished room looked like!
I usually use baskets to organize but we wanted it kid friendly so we used plastic containers instead.
